Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak rice and lentils separately for 4-6 hours.
  • STEP 2.Grind the soaked rice and lentils into a smooth batter.
  • STEP 3.Add grated bottle gourd, salt, and water to the batter and mix well.
  • STEP 4.Heat a non-stick pan and pour a ladleful of batter onto it.
  • STEP 5.Spread the batter in a circular motion to form a thin dosa.
  • STEP 6.Drizzle oil around the edges and cook until golden brown.
  • STEP 7.Flip the dosa and cook the other side until crispy.
  • STEP 8.Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure to ferment the batter for at least 8 hours to get a tangy flavor.
  • You can add finely chopped onions, green chilies, and coriander leaves to the batter for extra flavor.
  • To make the dosa more crispy, sprinkle some rice flour on the pan before pouring the batter.
