Bot Chien (bt chin) is the Vietnamese version of chai tow kway, rice flour cakes that are fried with lots of oil, topped with an egg, and served with a sweet and sour soy topping sauce.

Ingredients for Bot Chein Recipe

  • As required For the rice flour cake
  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 1 tablespoon tapioca starch
  • 1.50 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt

  • 2 teaspoon black soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 4 Egg
  • 1 cup spring onion, chopped
  • As required For the dipping sauce
  • 2 tablespoon soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon white/black vinegar
  • 3 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chopped red chili pepper
  • As required For the pickles
  • 1/2 cup carrot, shredded
  • 1/2 cup daikon/green papaya, shredded
  • 3 tablespoon white vinegar

  • STEP 1.In a microwavable bowl, mix the rice flour, food product starch, water, oil, and salt. Stir well to dissolve. Optional put aside for half-hour to cut back the sturdy flour smell.   • STEP 5.In a frying pan (preferably a significant robust skillet) on medium-high heat, add one tbsp oil. Then add the rice flour cake cubes and fry each side till tender golden brown. It ought to take concerning 7-8 minutes on either side.

  • STEP 6.Then crack two eggs into the pan and break the yolks to bind the rice flour cubes along. Prime up with 2-3 tbsp sliced onion and cook for 1-2 minutes till the egg is slightly set. Then flip it over to cook the opposite facet for an additional one minute.
