Boondi are small sweet round balls made of besan (gram flour). an easy and simple indian sweet recipe made with deep-fried chickpea flour pearls dipped in sugar syrup. it is an ideal dessert recipe which is not only made and served for festival but can also be served as a light dinner snack. the same recipe is further extended to make boondi ladoo by shaping it to like a ball.

How to Make Boondi Recipe

STEP 01

In a mixing bowl add water and gram flour and make a batter, make sure there are no lumps present in the batter.

STEP 02

In a pot, add 1cup of water and 2cups of sugar to make a sugar syrup, when the sugar is dissolved in the syrup add 5gm of cardamom powder and keep aside.

STEP 03

In a pot, heat oil for frying, once the oil is hot place the boondi making ladle above the pot and start pouring gram flour batter in the ladle.

STEP 04

Tiny balls are prepared within the ladle and are dropped in the oil.

STEP 05

Keep stirring the oil and once the balls are golden in appearance remove them from oil and drop them in the sugar syrup prepared earlier.
