So i decided to share this basic recipe with you all today. I use microwave mostly for boiling potatoes and baking which i am learning from all you wonderful people of bb out there..hope you like this .

So i decided to share this basic recipe with you all today. I use microwave mostly for boiling potatoes and baking which i am learning from all you wonderful people of bb out there..hope you like this .</p>

step 1

Pat dry them with a clean kitchen towel.

With a knife make 3-4 slits around the potatoes.

Take a polythene plastic bag and place the potatoes in it and tie a knot at the top.

Every microwave has an auto menu for potatoes.  my ifb oven has that setting at no. 4.  when you select that setting,  there are several options depending upon the weight of the potatoes.  as i had 500 gm potatoes,  the timer starts automatically.  in my microwave,  the 450 gms setting has a timer of 6 minutes and 30 seconds.

When the timer turns off,  do not open the door immediately.  let the potatoes rest a little otherwise the hot air coming from the packet will burn you.

Peel the potatoes and grate them or cut them in pieces.  i cut them in pieces as i was making sukhe aloo.
