 A very delicious,healthy,easy raita prepared from bitter gourd. Bitter gourd or bitter melon is a tender, traditional, edible fruit/vegetable pod grown on climbing vines. As the name suggests, it tastes bitter. To be frank, it is considered one of the most bitter among all fruits.

Ingredients for Bitter Gourd Raita Recipe

  • 3/4 cup fresh coconut
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 4 Nos green chilli
  • 200 gram bitter gourd
  • 3 tablespoon Oil
  • 3 cup fresh curd
  • As required Few Curry leaves
  • 3 Nos dry red chilli

step 1

  • STEP 1.Grind coconut,green chilli,water and make a paste.

  • STEP 2.Chop bitter gourd and green chillies

step 3

  • STEP 3.1.add oil in a kadai & heat it.

step 4

  • STEP 4.2.now add chopped bitter gourd & green chillies.

step 5

  • STEP 5.3.add salt and fry for 2 mins

step 6

  • STEP 6.4.now add one cup of water,cover and cook for 10 mins

step 7

  • STEP 7.5.then add grinded masala and saute for 5 mins.

step 8

  • STEP 8.6.now let it cool down and add fresh curd

step 9

  • STEP 9.7.take a pan add tbsp coconut oil,mustard seeds,curry leaves & dry red chilli.

step 10

  • STEP 10.8.now pour this tadka on top of the bitter gourd curd mixture and mix.
