  • 8-10 Green chilies Nos
  • 2 tablespoon Garlic cloves sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Avocado Oil
  • As required Farmers cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Water

How to Make Bhutanese Kewa Datshi Recipe

STEP 01

1 start by arranging the ingredients in layers in the stone pot.

STEP 02

2 first, layer 2 tbsp sliced garlic.

STEP 03

3 follow this with 3 medium thick sliced potatoes.

STEP 04

4 next add 8 to 10 slit green chillies depending on the level of pungency desired

STEP 05

5 add 1 tsp avocado oil, ½ tsp salt.

STEP 06

6 on top of the chillies spoon ½ cup farmers cheese and 2 cheese slices.

STEP 07

7 finally pour in 1 cup of water and put the stone pot on the heat on low heat.

STEP 08

8 cover and cook for 3 minutes, then increase the heat to medium and continue to cook.

STEP 09

9 after a few more minutes increase the heat further to medium high.

STEP 10

10 remove the lid and cook open for 7 to 8 minutes.

STEP 11

11 most of the water will have evaporated and the potatoes will be cooked. Turn off the flame. Stir gently and check the salt. Adjust if required.

STEP 12

12 kewa datshi is ready. Serve hot with rice.
