Gathiya is one of the most popular and all time favorite savory and crunchy Gujarati snacks. Bhavnagari gathiya is an extremely easy for  Diwali festival & tea-time evening snack prepared from chickpea flour. It also has a very long shelf life and can be stored in airtight containers for months. It is quick and easy to prepare and is liked by all age groups.

Ingredients for Bhavnagari gathiya Recipe

  • 62.50 gram Gram flour
  • 0.13 tsp Crushed black pepper
  • 0.13 tsp Carom seeds
  • As Required water
  • cup Oil
  • 0.06 tsp Papad
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 cup Oil for deep frying

Directions: Bhavnagari Gathiya Recipe

  • STEP 1.In a large mixing bowl take besan.
  • STEP 2.Then add crushed black pepper and 1 tsp crushed carom seeds. Mix well
  • STEP 3.In another bowl, add water, oil, papad khar, and salt
  • STEP 4.Mix with a whisker and make white fluffy liquid.
  • STEP 5.Add oil and water mixture into the flour and knead semi-soft dough.
  • STEP 6.Divide the dough into 2 parts, then add water little by little and knead the dough till its changes it's color and becomes very soft.
  • STEP 7.The dough will be slightly sticky, grease the hand with oil and combine all dough.
  • STEP 8.Heat the oil to medium flame. Grease the grater or gathiya zara with oil.
  • STEP 9.Place dough grater and spread with your hand palm.
  • STEP 10.Flip over and fry gathiya on medium-low flame.
  • STEP 11.Drain crispy gathiya on a plate and repeat making more gathiya with the remaining dough.
