How to Make Bhaat Na Rasawala Muthia Dhokla Recipe

STEP 01

1 in a mixing bowl add 1 ½ cup soft cooked rice, ½ cup besan (gram flour), 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp red chilli powder, ¼ tsp turmeric (haldi) powder. Mash and knead the ingredients together to form a homogenous dough.

STEP 02

2 grease palms of the hands and make small portions of the dough. Roll between palms to make small ovals 1 inch in diameter and 2 inches in length.

STEP 03

3 to make the kadhi, in a saucepan add 2 tbsp besan and 1 cup dahi. Mix well to ensure that there are no lumps.

STEP 04

4 then add ½ tsp red chilli powder, ¼ tsp turmeric (haldi) powder, salt to taste. Mix well.

STEP 05

5 add 3 cups of water to the mixture. This is to make a thinner kadhi. Mix well to combine with the curd and besan mixture.

STEP 06

6 turn on the heat and whisk the kadhi continuously for 3 to 4 minutes on medium heat, to ensure that there are no lumps formed and to prevent the curd from splitting. Once the kadhi begins to boil and thicken, add 1 slit green chilli, 1 inch ginger finely chopped, 1 torn bayleaf, 1 inch cinnamon stick broken. Allow to simmer for 1 to 2 minutes.

STEP 07

7 then add 1 cup water, add the muthias. Bring it to a brisk boil for about 3 to 4 minutes. When the muthias rise up to the surface of the kadhi they are ready. Turn off the heat.

STEP 08

8 for the tadka, in a preheated pan add 1 tbsp ghee and allow it to melt. Add 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 inch broken cinnamon (dalchini) stick, 1 sprig curry leaf torn. Allow the cumin to crackle and turn off the heat.

STEP 09

9 transfer the bhaat na rasawala muthia dhokla into a serving bowl and pour in the tadka. Serve along with theplas.
