Add ¼ cup grated carrots, 1 chopped onion, ½ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp red chilli powder, 1 chopped green chilly, ¼ tsp asafoetida, 1 small bunch chopped coriander leaves and salt to taste.

step 3

For this wash hands, dry them and grease the palms of the hands so that the mixture does not stick. Take portions of the mixture and make big size balls that fit in the cup of your hand.

step 4

Place a moist muslin cloth or cotton handkerchief on a flat rolling surface, place the ball on it and press down gently to make a thick circular thepla .

step 5

Heat a flat pan, carry the muslin cloth that has the thepla and gently flip it onto the hot pan.let it cook for a few minutes for the besan to cook. Press it down lightly to ensure that the centre also cooks evenly. Apply 1 tsp ghee and gently flip it over and spread 1 tsp ghee on the other side as well.
