Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Pressure cook toor dal with water, turmeric powder, and salt until soft and mushy.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and asafoetida.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, and green chilies. Sauté until onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
  • STEP 5.Add cooked dal and green peas. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the flavors are well blended.
  • STEP 6.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
