Upma (Uppittu) is very tasty and easy to make breakfast food item. Vegetable Rava upma is one of the most common traditional south indian breakfast dish and its enjoyed with plain coconut chutney, sambar, green mint chutney or even pickle. Today i made Beetroot vegetable upma...it becomes more healthy and tasty.

Ingredients for Beetroot Upma Recipe

  • 1/2 cup White Rava
  • 1/4 cup Beetroot juice
  • 1/2 g rind to fine paste and extract the beetroot juice]
  • 1/2 Pieces Onion
  • 1 tbsp Green peas
  • 1 tbsp Sweet corn
  • 1 tbsp capsicum ( finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp carrot ( finely chopped)
  • 1/2 g reen Chilli
  • 1/2 g Curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp Coriander leaves [finely chopped]
  • 1/2 tbsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 gram Bengal gram
  • 1/2 g Urad Dal
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tbsp Oil

Directions: Beetroot Upma Recipe

  • STEP 1.Dry roast rava
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds. Once it’s spluttered add chopped onion, carrot, peas, sweet corn n capsicum sauté till light brown colour then add green chilli and curry leaves and sauté gently.
  • STEP 3.Add 1/2 cup of beetroot juice and salt. When boils add roasted rawa slowly and stir simultaneously so that there will be no lumps. Add some more Beetroot juice if required.
  • STEP 4.Mix well and cook for 2 minutes cut off heat.
  • STEP 5.Add lemon juice. Then cover it for 5 minutes. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves serve hot.
