Beetroot Pichadi Recipe

A spicy recipe of beetroot with coconut milk in Kerala Style a healthy and flavoured raita recipe made with grated beetroot and coconut masala. it is generally made during onam celebration feast as part of sadya, but can be made for any occasions without any specific reasons. the recipe is very simple and easy and makes ideal side dish curry for steamed rice or boiled rice (red rice).

Ingredients for Beetroot Pichadi Recipe

  • 2 Chopped beetroot small size
  • 1 cup shredded coconut milk
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • As required Curry leaves
  • 2 Dry red chili
  • 2 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 cup f water

  • STEP 1.Chop the beetroot

  • STEP 2.Heat 1cup water in a cooking vessel

step 3

  • STEP 3.Add 1cup of chopped beetroot

step 4

  • STEP 4.Add curd and shredded coconut milk

step 5

  • STEP 5.Let it cook for 4mins

step 6

  • STEP 6.Heat oil in a frying pan

step 7

  • STEP 7.Add 1tsp mustard seeds, curry leaves, dry red chilies

step 8

  • STEP 8.Let them pop, then add it to the cooking vessel

step 9

  • STEP 9.Mix them well and cook for 2 mins

step 10

  • STEP 10.Serve with rice
