Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a large pot, heat oil over medium-high heat and brown the beef on all sides.
  • STEP 2.Add the onions, carrots, celery, garlic, and herbs to the pot and cook until the vegetables are softened.
  • STEP 3.Stir in the tomato paste and cook for another minute.
  • STEP 4.Add the beef broth, barley, and bay leaves to the pot.
