Batata Vada is a popular Mumbai street food snack. In Marathi language ‘potatoes’ are called as ‘batata’ and ‘vada’ means a ‘fried snack’. Hence the name.
STEP 1.👉Mix all the ingredients for making batter i. e., gram flour, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala, chaat masala, carrom and coriander seeds in a mixing bowl.
STEP 2.👉Add water and make batter of thick consistency. Keep aside.
STEP 3.👉In a separate pan add all the ingredients for vada.
STEP 4.👉Mash and mix all ingredients thoroughly.
STEP 5.👉Now make small balls of lemon size.
STEP 6.👉Heat oil in a karahi and dip potato ball in batter and put vadas one by one and deep fry till golden brown colour.
STEP 7.👉Flip the side and fry from other side also.
STEP 8.👉Serve hot with sauce.
