  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 3/4 cup tapioca flour
  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • pinch salt
  • 3.83 cup warm water
  • As required FILLING
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/2 pound add ground pork
  • 3 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup chopped jicama
  • 1/2 chopped onion
  • 1 cup re hydrated wood ear mushrooms, chopped
  • As required cracked pepper
  • As required Fish dipping sauce
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoon rice vinegar

How to Make Banh Cuon Recipe

STEP 01

Prepare the batter in a mixing bowl add 1 cup rice flour, ¾ cup tapioca flour, 2 tbsp oil, a pinch of salt, and 3 ½ cups warm water, mix well, and set aside for 15-20 minutes.

STEP 02

Fish sauce in a small bowl add 2tbsp sugar, 2tbsp rice vinegar, 2tbsp fish sauce, and ⅓ cup warm water, keep stirring until the solid ingredients dissolve.

STEP 03

For the filling in a large pan drizzle some olive oil and let it heat. Then add 1tbsp minced garlic and saute for a couple of minutes.

STEP 04

Now add ½ lb ground pork cook and let it break down into small pieces.

STEP 05

Add the seasonings- 1tbsp fish sauce, 1tsp sugar, 1tsp kosher salt and mix all the ingredients well with ground pork.

STEP 06

Then add 1 cup chopped jicama, ½ cup chopped onions, 1 cup rehydrate wood-ear mushrooms (chopped), and cracked pepper. Cook it for 3-5mins.

STEP 07

For the wrapper take a non-stick pan, add 1tsp oil, and wipe it. Add ½ ladle of batter, spread around evenly, cover it with a lid and let it cook for 1 or until translucent.

STEP 08

Wrap up the filling, add around 2 tbsp filled and wrap like a burrito. Top it with fresh bean sprouts, chopped mint, fried onions, and chopped cucumbers.

STEP 09

Serve it with the fish sauce.
