How to Make Bane Mote(poppy Seeds Pancake) Recipe

step 1

STEP 01

In a saucepan add 120 ml water and 120 gm palm sugar, and boil until the palm sugar dissolves. Once done Set it aside and let it cool for 5 mins.

Now in a bowl add 300gm of rice flour, 1 tsp yeast, 1 tsp baking powder, a pinch of salt, and mix all the dry ingredients thoroughly.

Then add 2 tbsp yogurt, 2 tbsp sugar, sieve in the palm sugar mixture, and mix them. In a different bowl beat 2 eggs and sieve in the beaten eggs as well in the mixture.

Now mix all the ingredients well and make a dough. Then add around 200ml water and make a smooth batter. Add more water if needed.

Sieve in the batter to another bowl to avoid any lumps. Now cover it and leave it in a warm place and let it ferment. Keep it at rest for 4houre minimum.

After 4 hours uncover the lid and mix it well again.

Toast ½ cup poppy seeds and peanuts for 5-7mins at low flame (separately)

Now take a pan, let it heat and brush some melted butter and pour 2 ladles of batter and spread it generously with the help of the ladle.

Sprinkle some poppy seeds peanuts, and shredded coconut on top. Cover it with a lid for 4 minutes. Uncover the lid and add some melted butter on top before flipping.

Flip the pancake and let it cook for 1-2 mins uncovered on the other side.
