  • 3/4 cup Nutralite classic spread 0.75 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 No.s Eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 cup Dates chopped
  • 1/4 cup Chocolate chips
  • 1.50 Ripe banana mashed
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cup Flour

Directions: Banana Date And Chocolate Chip Cake Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 in a large mixing bowl or a stand mixer, add ¾ cup nutralite classic spread or butter, ½ cup brown sugar (demerara) and crack 2 whole eggs. Beat the ingredients together until light and fluffy.

  • STEP 2.2 once combined add ½ tsp baking powder, ¼ cup chopped dates, ¼ cup chocolate chips, 1 ½ ripe banana mashed, 1 tsp vanilla essence, ¼ tsp salt and 2 cups flour (1 ½ cup whole wheat flour + ¼ cup bajra+¼ cup jowar).

  • STEP 3.3 beat the ingredients together to get a thick cake batter.

  • STEP 4.4 grease a loaf pan or round tin or muffin cups, with butter by applying butter or oil all over the inside of the baking tin. Then dust flour all over the inside so that it sticks to the greased sides. Invert the tin over the sink and tap it to remove any excess flour.

  • STEP 5.5 pour the cake batter into the pan and gently spread it out evenly to the sides using a spatula.

step 6

  • STEP 6.6 place the cake pan in a preheated oven at 180 degrees celsius for 30 to 40 minutes. after 25 minutes check if the cake is done by inserting a knife into the centre. If it comes out with only a few crumbs stuck to it then the cake is cooked since a banana cake will be moist.

step 7

  • STEP 7.7 slice the cake and dust with icing sugar just before serving.
