Baklava is a layered pastry dessert made of filo pastry, filled with chopped nuts, and sweetened with syrup or honey. It was one of the most popular sweet pastries of Lebanese cuisine.
STEP 1.Take Phyllos sheets ingredients and make soft dough.let it rest for 2 hours.
STEP 2.Add corn starch and maida
STEP 3.Make 5 equal size balls and roll them. Keep spreading corn starch and maida mixture.
STEP 4.Keep all rolled sheets one above the other.
STEP 5.Keep extending all sheets together as thin as possible
STEP 6.Keep spreading corn Starch and maida mix.
STEP 7.Once very very thin, Keep in a cloth.
STEP 8.Ground almonds, Pista and walnuts. Add little sugar.
STEP 9.Melt butter till milk particles separate. Strain the butter.
STEP 10.Take one sheet, spread butter generously, fold into half and again spread butter.
STEP 11.Spread dryfruit mix in a thin line on one side of phyllo sheet.
STEP 12.With the help of a stick, fold into roll, then just leave one cm, and squeeze inside, remove stick and make circular shape.
STEP 13.Keep in baking tray and again apply butter.
STEP 14.Bake in a pre heated oven at 170°c for 25-30 minutes or till golden crust.
STEP 15.By the time prepare sugar syrup.
STEP 16.When baklava discs are ready, pour sugar syrup over them, sprinkle dryfruit mix and let them rest for 2 hours
