After festivals we need something healthy and nutricious and tasty.Here i present you my healthy and simple food thali. Its a haryanavi thali but its eaten in many parts of country. Bajre ki khichdi is a one pot meal in itself. Along with curd,green chutney and roasted shakarkandi makes it a best accompliment. Fried ginger gives warmth during this changing weather when we usually fall ill coz of cold . And humble carrot and beetroot salad.This will satisfy your sweet and savoury craving both. Balance of food is very important specially when we feast lot of heavy things during diwali and festival season. So our body needs something healthy n nutritious.

Ingredients for Bajre ki khichdi with dahi,dhania pudina chutney,shakarkandi roasted ,fried ginger and carrot n beet Recipe

  • 5 cup Bajra cup
  • 5 cup water
  • 1 Pieces Onion piece
  • 2 Pieces Tomato
  • A Bunch Mint leaves
  • A Bunch Coriander leaves
  • 2 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tsp chilly powder
  • 1 Tsp jeera powder
  • 1 Cups Curd
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 Pieces Shakarkandi
  • A Few Drops Lemon juice

Directions: Bajre Ki Khichdi With Dahi,dhania Pudina Chutney,shakarkandi Roasted ,fried Ginger And Carrot N Beet Recipe

  • STEP 1.To make bajra khichdi
  • STEP 2.1-Soak whole bajra for atleast 18-19 hrs.
  • STEP 3.2- now grind it coarsely in mixer.
  • STEP 4.3- now take a pressure cooker and add 5 times water with salt n haldi and cook it openly for 6-8 min till its milky and translucent in colour. Now pressure cook for 1 vissel.
  • STEP 5.6-grind onion and tomato together and make tadka for khichdi.
  • STEP 6.7-now add tomato onion tadka and mix.its ready. Serve with desi ghee on top.
  • STEP 7.To make raita
  • STEP 8.1- whip dahi(curd) with little salt and pinch of sugar .
  • STEP 9.2- serve with jeera and chilli powder sprinkle on top.
  • STEP 10.To make shakarkandi roast
  • STEP 11.1- boil shakarkandi upto 1 vissel.
  • STEP 12.2- open when all the steam subside itself.
  • STEP 13.3- peel and cut in roundels.
  • STEP 14.4- take pan and add 1/2 ts ghee.
  • STEP 15.5- now add shakarkandi .
  • STEP 16.6- after it's getting crispy now add salt ,jeera powder, chilli powder and little sugar.
  • STEP 17.7- serve it hot .
  • STEP 18.To make dhania pudina chutney
  • STEP 19.1- wash and cut coriander leaves and mint leaves
  • STEP 20.2-take mixer jar and add coriander leaves,mint leaves,ginger ,garlic clove,salt , green chilli and lemon juice.
  • STEP 21.3- grind and its ready.
  • STEP 22.To make fried ginger
  • STEP 23.1- take ginger julians
  • STEP 24.2- saute in Desi ghee for 3 -4 min.
  • STEP 25.3- serve it with bajre ki khichdi.
