An easy nutritious khichdi prepared from bajra, moth, moong especially during winters. A delicious, warming, and nutritious recipe from Rajasthan, Bajre Ki Khichdi or Bajra Khichdi is made using bajra or pearl millet, rice, and lentils. It is a wholesome dish that is a winter favorite. Also called Bajre Ka Khichda or Khich in some parts of Rajasthan, Bajra Khichdi is a type of porridge which is made with Bajra (Pearl Millet), Rice, and Moong Dal.

Ingredients for Bajre Ka Kheech/Khichda Recipe

  • 2 Bajra bowl
  • 1/2 Moth dal bowl
  • 1/2 Moong dal bowl
  • As required Salt
  • 1-2 tablespoon Desi ghee

Directions: Bajre Ka Kheech/khichda Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Sprinkle some water into the bajra for softening.

step 2

  • STEP 2.Now rest the bajra for 15-20 mins.

step 3

  • STEP 3.Grind the bajra coarsely into the mixer.

step 4

  • STEP 4.Crush the bajra finely with the mortar and pastel.

step 5

  • STEP 5.Soak dal in water for 10 mins.

step 7

  • STEP 1.Add 2 glasses of water in a pot and boil it.

step 8

  • STEP 1.With the ladle add bajra little by little and stir it to avoid lumps.

step 9

  • STEP 1.Now add soaked dal into it.

step 10

  • STEP 1.Stir it continuously until bajra & dal mix well for 6-7 mins at medium flame.

step 11

  • STEP 1.Cover the mid and keep stirring it on intervals.

step 12

  • STEP 1.Add salt as per taste & mix.

step 13

  • STEP 1.Spread some ghee and serve.
