Atukula Payasam is a Nutritious and tasty sacrament/Dessert.It is a one pot recipe and can be prepared very easily.a simple south indian milk based dessert recipe prepared with rice flakes or poha and jaggery. it is a traditional milk kheer recipe prepared mainly during the festival seasons or as part of celebration feast. it is basically an extended version of kheer recipe prepared with jaggery.

Ingredients for Atukulu Payasam Recipe

  • 1/2 tablespoon Ghee
  • 5 gram Fresh coconut
  • 1/2 cup Flattened rice
  • 1/2 Litre Water litre
  • 2.50 gram Raisins
  • 5 gram Cashew nuts
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 No.s Crushed Cardamom
  • 1/2 cup Jaggery
  • 1/2 cup Coconut milk

Directions: Atukulu Payasam Recipe

  • STEP 1.In a pot add 1tbsp of ghee and let it melt, add chopped coconut and flattened rice in the pot and fry for 2-3 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Then add water in the pot and let boil.
  • STEP 3.Add raisins, cashew nuts, milk and crushed cardamom, mix everything well and let boil.
  • STEP 4.After 2-3 minutes add jaggery and coconut milk.
  • STEP 5.Let the dish cook for a while and once it comes to a consistency that you want, turn off the flame and serve in a bowl.
