Ingredients for Assamese Delicacy ' Patot Diya Mua Maas'/Fish Cooked In Banana Leaf Recipe

  • 500 gram Mua Maas
  • 1 Lime juice Nos
  • As required Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2-3 tablespoon roughly Coriander leaves chopped
  • 1-2 teaspoon Mustard oil

Directions: Assamese Delicacy ' Patot Diya Mua Maas'/fish Cooked In Banana Leaf Recipe

  • STEP 1.Wash and dry banana leaf. Place the leaf on the flame for some time to make it pliable. Heat it evenly. Sprinkle salt and squeeze lime juice on 500 gm of mua maas fish. Marinate for 10 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • STEP 2.next add ½ tsp grated ginger, 1 tsp chopped garlic, ½ tsp turmeric (haldi) powder, salt to taste, 3 to 4 slit green chilies as per taste, 3 to4 tsp roughly chopped coriander, 1 to 2 tsp mustard oil. Mix all the ingredients together well to ensure that the fish get coated.
  • STEP 3.Place the fish in the centre of the banana leaf and fold the leaf over it from all sides to pack it well. Tie the parcel with banana string. Place the parcel on a baking tray in the oven and bake for 40 minutes at 400 degrees.
  • STEP 4.Carefully take out the banana leaf parcel and unwrap the leaf. Patot diya mua maas is ready.
