  • 1/4 cup Rice
  • 1/2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Urad Dal
  • 1/4 teaspoon Chana Dal
  • 1/4 Onion, Chopped
  • 1/2 Green Chilies, Chopped
  • as needed A Few Curry Leaves
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • as per your need Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the rice for 30 minutes, then drain the water.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal, and chana dal. Fry until the dals turn golden brown.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions, green chilies, and curry leaves. Saute until the onions turn translucent.
  • STEP 4.Add the soaked rice, salt, and water. Mix well and cook covered on low heat until the rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
  • STEP 5.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with chutney or sambar.

Cooking Tips

  • You can add vegetables like carrots, peas, and beans to make it more nutritious.
  • Adjust the quantity of green chilies according to your spice preference.
  • Make sure to cook the rice on low heat to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
