Aravana Prasadam is a very popular sacrament in south Indian Temples and is considered as a divine food. Aravana Payasam is one of the most important 'prasad' distributed at the famous Sabarimala Temple in Kerala. It is prepared by using rice, jaggery, and ghee. It can be kept for a longer time in an airtight container.

Ingredients for Aravana Prasadam Recipe

  • 1 cup Ghee
  • 50 g coconut peices
  • 1 cup Red rice
  • 3 cup Black Jaggery
  • 5 gram Ginger powder
  • 3 cup Water
  • 6 Cardamom

Directions: Aravana Prasadam Recipe

  • STEP 1.In a pot add 1 cup of ghee, 50gm of coconut pieces and 1 cup of red rice.
  • STEP 2.Let it roast for 4-5 minutes at low flame, then add 3cups of water and let boil.
  • STEP 3.Cook for 5-6 minutes, make sure the rice is cooked well.
  • STEP 4.Serve in a bowl and enjoy.
