Ingredients for Apple Tart Recipe

  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 5 Apples, diced
  • 1 stick Cinnamon
  • 60 gram Caster sugar
  • 60 gram Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Corn Flour
  • As required Lemon juice
  • As required Chilled Pie Dough
  • 350 gram All purpose flour
  • 1.50 tablespoon Powdered sugar
  • 225 gram Butter
  • 1.50 tablespoon Chilled water

Directions: Apple Tart Recipe

  • STEP 1.In a bowl mix the flour with powdered sugar and transfer it on a counter.

  • STEP 2.Then add butter cubes and incorporate butter into the flour and sugar mixture as shown.

  • STEP 3.Bring this flour together using chilled water.

  • STEP 4.Once the dough comes together, divide it into 2 parts and shape it into a disc.

  • STEP 5.Cover with a cling wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  • STEP 6.Sprinkle some flour on the workbench and roll it with a rolling pin as shown.

  • STEP 7.Once the dough is rolled properly, transfer it to a pie dish.

  • STEP 8.Trim off the excess dough and poke the dough lightly with a fork.

  • STEP 9.Bake in a preheated oven at 180°c for 15-20 minutes.

  • STEP 10.Melt butter in a pan and add apples, cinnamon stick, caster sugar, brown sugar and cook for 5 minutes.

  • STEP 11.Once the apples release their juices, drain and transfer these juices to a separate bowl.

  • STEP 12.Now add corn flour and stir until the juices have evaporated.

  • STEP 13.Turn the flame off and squeeze lemon juice in it.

  • STEP 14.Boil the extracted apple juice for 5-7 minutes and put it to the apple pieces.

  • STEP 15.Let the caramelized apples cool down to room temperature.

  • STEP 16.Prick the base of the pie crust with a fork.

  • STEP 17.Bake in a preheated oven at 180°c for 5-7 minutes and let it cool down.

  • STEP 18.Roll out a chilled pie dough with a rolling pin and cut it evenly into thin strips.

  • STEP 19.Transfer the apples into the pie dish and decorate the pie with the pie dough strips.

  • STEP 20.Bake in a preheated oven at 180°c for 35-40 minutes.
