  • 0.13 Onion, Chopped
  • 1/4 Tomatoes, Chopped

  • 0.13 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 0.13 teaspoon Cumin Seeds

  • 0.06 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 0.06 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1/4 tablespoon Oil

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the lentils for 30 minutes. Drain the water and cook the lentils in a pressure cooker with water, turmeric powder, and salt.
  • STEP 2.In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and green chilies. Saute until onions turn translucent.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  • STEP 4.Add the cooked lentils and drumsticks to the pan. Mix well and simmer for 5-10 minutes until the flavors blend together.
  • STEP 5.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or roti.

Cooking Tips

  • Soaking the lentils helps in faster cooking and better digestion.
  • You can adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less red chili powder.
