  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds

  • 1/4 Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1/4 cup Tomato Puree
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tablespoon Cream
  • 1/2 tablespoon Butter
  • as required Fresh Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the black lentils and kidney beans overnight.
  • STEP 2.Pressure cook the lentils and beans until soft and mushy.
  • STEP 3.In a separate pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds, ginger-garlic paste, and chopped onions. Saute until golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add tomato puree, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala. Cook until the oil separates from the masala.
  • STEP 5.Add the cooked lentils and beans to the masala and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  • STEP 6.Add cream and butter, and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.

  • Soaking the lentils and beans overnight helps in reducing the cooking time.
