Ingredients for Amritsar Ajwain Paneer Recipe

  • As required Ingredients for ground masala
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 1 No.s Green chilli
  • 2 No.s Garlic Cloves
  • 2 No.s Cloves
  • 1.50 teaspoon Ajwain seeds
  • As required Ingredients for paneer gravy
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Ground masala
  • 1 No.s Onion Finely Chopped
  • 1 cup Cooked tomato puree
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • As required Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 cup Paneer cubed

Directions: Amritsar Ajwain Paneer Recipe

  • STEP 1.For the masala freshly grind 1 inch ginger, 1 green chilli, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 cloves (lavang). Grind to a coarse paste. Then add 1 ½ tsp ajwain seeds and continue to grind. Do not make a fine paste.
  • STEP 2.In a preheated pan add 1 tsp oil and saute the ground masala on low heat for a few seconds.
  • STEP 3.Next add 1 finely chopped onion and saute on low heat for 3 to 4 minutes till the onion becomes soft and the aromas of the ground mixture begins to come through.
  • STEP 4.Then add 1 cup cooked tomato puree, 1 tsp turmeric (haldi) powder, ½ tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp garam masala powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, salt to taste and ½ tsp sugar to balance the tartness of the tomatoes. Mix to combine all the ingredients well.
  • STEP 5.Saute and cook on medium heat for a few minutes.
  • STEP 6.Add 1 cup cubed paneer and stir well. Bring it to a brisk boil for a few minutes and turn off the heat.
