  • 25 gram Indian Gooseberries
  • 1/5 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/10 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/10 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 0.90 Y Leaves
  • 1/5 Green Chilies, Chopped
  • 1/10 teaspoon Grated Ginger
  • 1/20 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/20 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/5 tablespoon Jaggery
  • As required Salt To Taste

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and deseed the Indian gooseberries (amla).
  • STEP 2.In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped green chilies and grated ginger. Saute for a minute.
  • STEP 4.Add the deseeded gooseberries and cook until they become soft.
  • STEP 5.Add salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and jaggery. Mix well.
  • STEP 6.Cook for a few more minutes until the chutney thickens.
  • STEP 7.Remove from heat and let it cool.
  • STEP 8.Blend the mixture into a smooth paste.
  • STEP 9.Transfer the chutney to a jar and refrigerate.
  • STEP 10.Serve chilled with your favorite snacks or as a side dish with meals.

Cooking Tips

  • You can adjust the spice level by adding more or less green chilies.
  • If you prefer a sweeter chutney, you can increase the amount of jaggery.
