Aloo Tokri chaat or Potato Basket Chaat is powerhouse of flavors in which you get many flavors, textures and tastes. Basket chaat is also known as tokri chaat or katori chaat.

Ingredients for Aloo tokri chaat Recipe

  • 5 g Potato
  • 1 As Required Oil
  • 1 cup Chickpeas (Boiled)
  • 1 cup Boondi
  • 1 Pieces Tomato
  • 1 Packet potato (boiled)
  • 1 cup White peas (Boiled)
  • As Required Salt
  • As Required Black salt
  • 4 As Required Tamarind chutney
  • As Required Green chutney
  • 2 tbsp Yoghurt
  • As Required For Ganishing coriander (finely chopped)
  • As Required For Ganishing Fine sev

Directions: Aloo Tokri Chaat Recipe

  • STEP 1.Soak boondi in hot water for about 5 minutes and drain off the excess water
  • STEP 2.In a mixing bowl combine chickpeas, white peas, soaked boondi, pomegranate, small paneer cubes, boiled potato cubes, green chillies, red chilli powder, as well as salt and mix well.
  • STEP 3.Take sufficient amount of this filling and place it in the baskets (almost half basket must be filled)
  • STEP 4.Now follow it with chopped tomato, yogurt, green chutney, tamarind chutney and black salt
  • STEP 5.Garnish with coriander leaves and fine sev
  • STEP 6.Peel the potatoes, wash them thoroughly and then grate them.
  • STEP 7.Soak the grated potatoes in water for about 5 minutes to get rid of the extra starch and drain well.
  • STEP 8.Place the grated potatoes in a vegetable strainer and deep fry the baskets on medium flame till golden brown.
  • STEP 9.Once done, tap the strainer lightly to unmould the basket, repeat with the remaining potatoes.

  • STEP 10.Place on a paper towel to get rid of the extra oil. Fill the stuffing and serve
