Ingredients for Aloo Singara Recipe

  • 0.60 cups maida
  • 1/10 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Cooking oil
  • 1/10 cup Coldwater
  • 0.60 Pieces Boiled potato
  • 1/5 Tbsp Red chili
  • 1/5 tsp Panch phoron
  • 1/5 tsp Coriander seeds
  • 0.40 g Green chili
  • 1/5 g Sliced ginger
  • 0.40 tbsp Peanut

Directions: Aloo Singara Recipe

  • STEP 1.For Singara Dough:
  • STEP 2.1. In a large plate or a bowl take plain flour/maida, salt, 5 tablespoons of cooking oil.
  • STEP 3.2. Mix the flour with your hand till you get a breadcrumb-like consistency.
  • STEP 4.3. When you press a portion of the mixture, it should hold together and not crumble (as shown in the video).
  • STEP 5.4. Add cold water as required to make a smooth and tight dough (approx 1/2 cup).
  • STEP 6.5. Rest the dough for 30 min.
  • STEP 7.For the stuffing:
  • STEP 8.1. In a pan roast red chilies, panch phoron, coriander seeds and grind them using mortar and pestle.
  • STEP 9.2. Pound 1 teaspoon of ginger and green chili also using mortar and pestle
  • STEP 10.3. Heat 2 tablespoon of oil, add peanuts, green chili-ginger mix, chili panch phoron and coriander mix, a little bit of turmeric, half-boiled potato cubes, and salt to taste.
  • STEP 11.Frying Singara:
  • STEP 12.1. Heat oil over medium heat.
  • STEP 13.2. Turn over frequently and maintain low heat.
  • STEP 14.3. Enjoy!
