Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Start by rinsing the flattened rice in water and then soaking it for a few minutes. Drain the water and set aside.
  • STEP 2.In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds. Once they start to splutter, add cumin seeds, chopped onions, and green chilies. Sauté until the onions turn translucent.
  • STEP 3.Add diced potatoes and cook until they are soft and lightly browned. Then, add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • STEP 4.Add the soaked flattened rice to the pan and gently mix everything together. Cook for a few minutes until the flavors are well combined.
  • STEP 5.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with yogurt or chutney.
