Aloo Matar ki sabji is simple yet delicious. This is a quick rajasthani version of preparing it without onion and Garlic. Aloo is the most common and comforting curry made with a couple of cumin seeds, potatoes, peas and some oil in a wok. Aloo matar is a recipe from the region of Punjab which is also the most popular Indian cuisine in USA.

  • 1.33 No.s medium size ‏Boiled Potatoes
  • 0.33 cup frozen green Peas
  • 0.67 No.s Tomatoes
  • 0.33 teaspoon grated ‏Ginger
  • 0.67 tablespoon Cilantro
  • 0.33 tablespoon Dhania Powder / Coriander Powder
  • 0.33 teaspoon Jeera Powder/ Cumin Powder
  • As required Salt
  • 0.33 teaspoon Kasuri Methi / Dried Fenugreek Leaves
  • 0.33 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
  • 0.17 teaspoon Haldi / Turmeric
  • 0.33 teaspoon Jeera / Cumin
  • 0.33 teaspoon Mustard / Rai
  • 0.17 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 0.33 teaspoon Amchur / Dry Mango Powder
  • 0.08 teaspoon Hing / Asafoetida
  • 0.67 tablespoon Oil

Directions: Aloo Matar Ki Sabzi Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1. Heat some oil in a pan.

step 2

  • STEP 1.2. Once the oil is hot add cumin seeds and Mustard seeds to it.

step 3

  • STEP 2.4. Once the seeds start sizzling add hing , coriander ,cumin, turmeric, red chili powder and roast for about 30 seconds.

  • STEP 3.5. Next add in tomatoes and julienne ginger.

  • STEP 4.6. Mix everything well, cover and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame.

  • STEP 5.7. Once the tomatoes are cooked add in some salt , amchur, garam masala and kasuri methi. Mix well.

  • STEP 6.8. Add chopped boiled potatoes and mix well.

  • STEP 7.9. Add a dash of water and stir well, simmer on medium flame for 5 minutes.

  • STEP 8.10. Add in the frozen green peas and coriander leaves and simmer for 2 mins.

step 10

  • STEP 9.11. Turn off the flame and serve it hot with pooris.
