Ingredients for Aloo Matar Ki Sabji Recipe

  • 1 tablespoon Nutralite classic spread
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
  • 2 No.s green chillies slit
  • 1 cup cooked tomato puree
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • As required Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 No.s potatoes peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup fresh steamed green peas
  • 1/2 teaspoon kasuri methi

Directions: Aloo Matar Ki Sabji Recipe

Step 1

  • STEP 1.In a pressure cooker add 1 tbsp of nutralite classic spread and let it melt. once it gets melted nicely then add 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 inch ginger and 2 slit green chillies.

  • STEP 1.2saute till the onions become soft. There is no need to fully brown them.

  • STEP 2.3next add 1 cup cooked tomato puree, ½ turmeric powder, ½ red chilli powder, ½ garam masala powder and salt to taste and 1 tsp sugar to balance the sourness.

  • STEP 3.4next add 2 peeled and diced potatoes soaked in water to prevent discolouring. Drain the water. Sit to mix well. Cover and pressure cook the potatoes for 5 to 6 whistles. Turn off and allow the pressure to release naturally.

step 5

  • STEP 4.5open the cooker and check the aloo by lightly pressing it with the ladle. If the ladle easily cuts the aloo, then it is cooked. Add ½ cup fresh steamed green peas, ½ tsp kasuri methi and stir to mix well. Do a taste test for salt and spices and adjust accordingly.

  • STEP 5.6serve with tawa paratha.
