Akhha Masoor is one of the favourite dish in all Maharashtrians. This is most demanding recipe in every home. It's very easy and awesome curry in taste.
Ingredients for Akhha Masoor Kolhapur Special Recipe
0.33 cup Whole masoor dal
0.33 Pieces Onion chopped
0.33 pieces Tomato chopped
0.67 tbsp Oil
0.33 tsp Ginger garlic paste
0.67 tsp Red chilli powder
0.33 tsp Garam masala
0.17 tsp Cumin powder
0.17 tsp Sugar
as required Chopped coriander leaves
to taste Salt
As Required Water
Directions: Akhha Masoor Kolhapur Special Recipe
STEP 1.Wash and soak whole masoor dal for 5-6 hrs.
STEP 2.Drain out water, wash masoor dal and cook in cooker on medium flame till 2 whistle.
STEP 3.Now in a pan heat 2 tbsp oil, add ginger garlic paste and saute for 6-7 seconds.
STEP 4.Now in this add chopped onion and saute till become golden brown.
STEP 5.Now add chopped tomatoes in this and saute for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes it will start leaving the pan.
STEP 6.Now in this add all the spices like red chilli powder, garam masala, cumin powder, salt and sugar. Mix everything well.
STEP 7.Note - 5-6 tbsp Cooked masoor dal keep aside and smash it with help of smasher, this will help to thicken the gravy.
STEP 8.- Now in this add cooked whole masoor dal and smashed masoor dal in it. Mix well, cover with a plate and cook for 2 minutes.
STEP 9.Add finely chopped coriander leaves and give a mix.
STEP 10.Akhha Masoor is ready to serve. You can serve with Chapati, Fulka, Roti. You can also serve with lemon piece and onion to enhance the taste.
