Laddoos made with a mixture of leftover rice and shredded coconut. Aggala are traditional Sri Lankan sweets made with roasted rice flour, shredded coconut, salt and pepper in a bowl. Pan on light heat is used during the making of the rice flour. These little Aggala balls are must for your table as they are dried rice healthy snack. These are essentially sweet and need alot of jaggery or treacle. This recipe is very easy and tasty.

Ingredients for Aggala Recipe

  • 0.40 cup roasted leftover rice
  • 1/10 cup Sugar
  • 0.40 cup grated coconut
  • 1/5 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/5 teaspoon Salt
  • As required Water

Directions: Aggala Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 grind the roasted cooked rice using a blender and turn it into a fine powder.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2 mix this in a bowl with grated coconut and add sugar, salt and pepper to it.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3 mix all the ingredients and add 2 tbsp water and combine well.

step 4

  • STEP 4.4 make small balls out of this dough and your aggala is ready to be served.
