Ingredients for Afghani Root Recipe

  • 1 package dry yeast or a little less than 1 T
  • 1/2 cup Warm Water
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3 cup Flour
  • 1.50 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • As required Poppy seeds

Directions: Afghani Root Recipe

  • STEP 1.Mix hot water and yeast (dough does not get to rise).
  • STEP 2.Add wet and dry ingredients and blend completely.
  • STEP 3.The dough can look and desire cookie dough.
  • STEP 4.Grease your pan if your pan wants it.
  • STEP 5.Press out dough onto the dish pan or cookware. I used a baking stone.
  • STEP 6.Scour dough with fork in perpendicular directions.
  • STEP 7.Top with flower seeds consistent with your preference.
  • STEP 8.Bake for half-hour at 350 f.
  • STEP 9.Allow it to chill, and cut it into squares to serve
