Afghani Bolani Recipe

Recipe By Slurrp

Did you know that the Afghani bolani is a close cousin of the Indian paratha? The delicacy is made with a dough that is stuffed with all things tasty. It is essentially a flatbread from Afghanistan that is filled with different kinds of ingredientsm ranging from potatoes, green onions to peppers and even pumpkin, which is known as Bolani kadoo. Another name for this Afghani side dish is Periki. These little flatbreads are out of this world. The good part is that you can bake or fry the bolani as per your choice. If you want to spruce up your bolani, you can add some minced meat to the filling too. It generally has a thin crust and potatoes or leeks or chives find home inside the dough. It is usually paired with a creamy mint and yoghurt dip as well as a green chutney. For the purpose of this recipe, we are making potato bolanis which are fried.
