The Aloo Tikkis in this recipe has been baked to make them healthy and clean. The addition of sweet potatoes in the tikki has made them more nutritious too.

  • 1 tablespoon Nutralite classic spread
  • 1 teaspoon Kalonji seeds
  • 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 No.s Bay leaf
  • 1 No.s Tomato puree or chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Black salt
  • 1 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • 1 teaspoon Amchur powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Anardana powder
  • 1 cup Kabuli chana cooked
  • As required Ingredients for tikki
  • 3 No.s potatoes boiled and mashed
  • As required coriander leaves finely chopped A few
  • 2 tablespoon Nutralite achari mayo
  • As required Nutralite garlic and oregano spread for frying A few
  • As required Ingredients for topping
  • As required Date chutney
  • As required Green chutney
  • As required Chopped Onions
  • As required Pomegranate

Directions: Achari Chole Aloo Tikki Chaat Recipe

  • STEP 1.Soak 1 cup of kabuli chana for 8 hours or overnight and pressure cook till the chana is soft.

    • STEP 2.1 in a preheated pan add 1 tbsp nutralite classic spread. When the spread has melted add 1 tsp kalonji seeds to bring out great taste in the chole to this add 1 inch ginger finely chopped, 1 bay leaf, 1 tomato puree or chopped, 1 tsp black salt ( kala namak), 1 tsp chaat masala ,1 tsp amchur powder, ½ tsp anardana powder (pomegranate).

    • STEP 3.2 next add 1 cup cooked kabuli chana. Stir to combine all the ingredients well. Check for salt and other seasoning and adjust accordingly. Simmer for 20 minutes till masala thickens and is absorbed by the chana. Then turn off the heat.

    • STEP 4.3 while the chana is simmering, put 3 boiled and mashed potatoes into a mixing bowl. Add finely chopped coriander leaves, 2 tbsp nutralite achari mayo.

    • STEP 5.4 mix all the ingredients and add a little salt. Shape it into small discs.

    • STEP 6.5 to use the nutralite as a filling, take a portion of the aloo mixture and flatten it on the palm, spoon little nutralite in the centre on the aloo and then pinch the edges closed so that when the tikki is cut, the nutralite will ooze out.

    • STEP 7.6 on a preheated pan spoon nutralite garlic and oregano spread. Keep the heat on low to melt the spread.

    • STEP 8.7 dip each tikki in bread crumbs, in a plate or bowl and place the tikki in the melted nutralite on the hot pan.

    • STEP 9.8 fry on medium high heat, flipping the tikkis over, until they brown evenly on both sides and are crisp on the top. Turn off the heat.

    • STEP 10.9 to assemble the achari chole aloo tikki chaat, serve a portion of the chole in a bowl and place the ikki on top of it. Drizzle date chutney on the tikki and chole for a chatpata taste. The spoon small dollops of mint chutney in the bowl followed by a sprinkling of finely chopped onions and pomegranate
