  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 pinch Cumin seeds
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida
  • As required Curry leaves
  • As required Finely chopped Tomato
  • 1 tablespoon Goda masala
  • As required Red chilli powder
  • 2 tablespoon Grated fresh Coconut
  • 2 cup cooked Tur dal
  • As required Water
  • 3 Kokum petals ~4
  • As required Jaggery
  • As required Salt
  • As required Finely chopped Coriander leaves

How to Make Aamti Recipe

STEP 01

Heat up oil in a pan. When oil is hot enough, add mustard.

STEP 02

When mustard pops up, add cumin seeds and let them also sizzle up.

STEP 03

Add asafoetida, curry leaves and tomato.

STEP 04

Fry the tomato for about 2 minutes. No need to cook them.

STEP 05

Add goda masala, red chilli powder and grated fresh coconut.

STEP 06

Fry for about a minute.

STEP 07

Add cooked dal and water. Mix well.

STEP 08

Add kokum petals. You can add tamarind if you want.

STEP 09

Add jaggery and salt to taste.

STEP 10

Boil on medium heat for about 5-7 minutes.

STEP 11

Add finely chopped coriander. Amti is already.

STEP 12

Amti goes well with rice and lots of ghee.
