Aamras is a summer delight in a bowl. One of the dishes that I make on occasions during weekends in the Indian summers is aamras poori. Traditionally aamras is served with Poori. This pairing known as aamras puri is liked by many people and is quite popular. But aamras can also be eaten after a meal as a sweet dish or just about a any time.

Ingredients for Aamras puri Recipe

  • 3 Pieces mangoes
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 Tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/2 Tsp ginger Powder
  • 1 Cup wheat flour
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • As Required Oil for frying

Directions: Aamras Puri Recipe

  • STEP 1.1.Peel and chop 3 mangoes. Add the chopped mangoes to a blender. You can also add some sugar if the mangoes are slightly tangy or sour. (Based on sweetness required)
  • STEP 2.2. Add 1/2 tsp cardamom powder and 1/2 tsp dry ginger powder (sunth), 5-6 saffron strand.
  • STEP 3.3. Add water if u want thin consistency, i usually add 1/2 cup water rinsing the peels.
  • STEP 4.4. Keep in fridge for an hour or sometime if you can't resist. Knead a soft dough with wheat flour and water. Roll out, cut and fry in hot oil. Serve chilled aamras with hot piping puris.
