Ingredients for Aam Jao(Mango Sweet Rice) Recipe

  • 1 Raw Mango
  • 2 cup Rice
  • 1.50 cup Sugar
  • 5 stick Cinnamon
  • 7-8 green cardamoms
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 2 tablespoon Salt
  • As required Cooking Oil
  • As required Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Jaggery

Steps To Prepare

  • STEP 1.Soak 2 cups of rice in water for 1hr and wash it thoroughly. Chop the raw mangoes.
  • STEP 2.In a saucepan, add 4 cups of water once it comes to a boil and then add the soaked rice. Cover it and let the rice cook. Add 4-6 tsp oil. Cook the rice by about 90%.
  • STEP 3.Drain the rice water and let it cool.

Cookig Directions

  • STEP 1.In the same saucepan, add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, and cardamoms.
  • STEP 2.Stir till the sugar melts down. Add 2tsp jaggery and salt to taste and give it a good mix.
  • STEP 3.Add the chopped mango and give it a good stir. Cook it for 5-6mins. Then add the cooked rice.
  • STEP 4.Mix the rice well with the sugar syrup. Keep mixing until it’s evenly spread. Now add a small cup of water, give it a good stir and cover it for 2 mins.
  • STEP 5.Turn off the flame once it's ready.

Storage And Serving Method

  • STEP 1.Serve this rice either with aloo or mutton kosha.
