Ingredients for Ribbon Fries Recipe

  • 62.50 g Potatoes
  • 1/2 Pieces Garlic
  • 1/4 tbsp Rice flour
  • 0.13 tbsp Plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp Cornflour
  • 1/4 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 0.13 tsp Pepper
  • 0.13 tsp Oregano
  • as required Salt
  • As Required Oil - for deep frying

Directions: Ribbon Fries Recipe

  • STEP 1.Wash and peel the potatoes and the cut them into 1/2 or 1 inch thick slices ( width of ribbons will depend on this)
  • STEP 2. Slice them sideways using a mandolin silcer ( as shown in the video) , to get the ribbons.
  • STEP 3. Rinse them in some cold water to get rid of the starch and then drain the potatoes.
  • STEP 4.Add the dry ingredients(except for salt) along with the grated garlic to the potatoes and give a good mix and set this aside for few mins
  • STEP 5.Heat some oil, and sprinkle the potato ribbons to the hot oil. Keep the flame on medium.
  • STEP 6.Fry until golden brown ( Keep an eye on them, and make sure it doesn't burn because these brown really quick), for about 5 mins.
  • STEP 7.Once done, drain the excess oil and toss them with some salt and chilli powder and enjoy
