In winter we enjoy lot of green vegetables.I thought of making something new from spinach .When today gone for shopping ,l had bhalle papdi so at once a thought occurs in my mind ,why not to make bhalle in spinach .l came back home with 1 kg spinach & peethi .l tried the receipe & wow it turns out v tasty.

  • 1/5 kg fresh spinach (palak)
  • 50 gram peethi
  • 1/5 As Required Chopped onion
  • 0.80 g big tomatoes puree
  • 1/5 tsp Grated ginger
  • 1/5 tsp Chopped garlic
  • to taste Salt
  • 0.40 tsp pure ghee
  • 1/5 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 0.40 g Chopped green chilies
  • 0.40 g Oil for deep frying

  • STEP 1.*Wash & rinse the spinach with fresh water 2_3 times.
  • STEP 2.*Drain out the water & put it in the cooker with grated ginger, chopped green chilies& 1 cup of water.Cover with lid & after a whistle,slow down the flame & cook for 20 minutes.
  • STEP 3.*In a karahi,pour 2 tbsp of ghee with chopped onions & grated garlic.
  • STEP 4.*Cook till it becomes pink in colour,now add grinded tomatoes with salt & red chilli powder.Cook till oil spreads from the corners.
  • STEP 5.*Open the cooker & let it cool down. Grind the palak in mixie & make a smooth paste.Add grinded palak to the cooked paste.Mix well & covered with the plate. Cook till all the water is absorbed.
  • STEP 6.*Meanwhile heat oil in a karahi & make bhallas from the peethi.Cook till they become little brown in colour.Take them out on a tissue paper to absorb excess oil.
  • STEP 7.*When the spinach is properly cooked,add bhallas to it & cook for 5 minutes on low flame.
  • STEP 8.*Serve hot with chapati.
