It is one thing to announce a house party, and another to make arrangements. Bigger the group, bigger the challenges. To heed to all their preferences can take a toll, which is why, it is never a bad idea to stick to classics. You know paneer tikka, noodles and kebabs et al. You can never go wrong with these crowd pullers, and the best part about them is that they can also be jazzed up further. That’s right, if you think people will accuse you of ‘playing safe’, then we have just the right recipe for you. This paneer sizzler recipe by home chef and Slurrp Community member Sonia Sarpal combines some of our all-time favourite Indo-Chinese favourites, like Hakka noodles, hot and sour sauce and crispy paneer in this sizzler.

For Hakka noodles 

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp oil 
  • I onion sliced 
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic 
  • 1/2 cup carrot (julienned) 
  • 1/2 cup capsicum (julienned) 
  • 1/2 cup cabbage (julienned) 
  • 2 cups boiled noodles 
  • Salt to taste 
  • 1 tsp white pepper 
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce 
  • 1 tsp vinegar 
  • 1 tsp red chilly sauce 
  • 1 tsp green chilly sauce 
  • Spring onions green for garnishing 

 For Paneer Sauce 

 Ingredients 

  • 250 gm paneer (cubes) 
  • 2 tbsp corn flour 
  • Oil for frying 
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic 
  • 1 tbsp chopped ginger 
  • 1/2 cup capsicum (Diced) 
  • 1/2 cup onions (Diced) 
  • 1/2 cup broccoli blanched 
  • Salt to taste 
  • 1/2 tsp sugar 
  • 1 tsp white pepper 
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce 
  • 1 tbsp red chilly sauce 
  • 1 tbsp green chilly sauce 
  • 1 tbsp vinegar 
  • 2 tbsp barbecue sauce 
  • 1 tbsp corn flour mix in 2 tbsp of water for gravy 
  • 1 tsp cold butter for sizzler try 
  • 3-4 cabbage leaves 
  • Add stir fry veggies also 

Method: 

  1. Heat oil, sautee garlic. Add onions, carrot, cabbage, capsicum. Sautee everything together.  
  2. Add salt and white pepper. 
  3. Then add boiled noodles. 
  4. Add soy sauce, reen chilly sauce, red chilly sauce and vinegar.  
  5. Toss it well. 
  6. Add spring onions. 
  7. Coat paneer in corn flour, fry them transfer to plate. 
  8. Sautee ginger, garlic, diced onions, capsicum, broccoli. 
  9. Then add soy sauce, red and green chilly sauce vinegar. Sautee for 2 minutes. 
  10. Add salt and pepper, followed by Barbecue sauce, salt, sugar, hot water, slurry and sautee.  
  11. Skewer the paneer in sticks. 
  12. Heat the sizzler plate. Place cabbage leaves on the plate. 
  13. Arrange hakka noodles, paneer cubes. 
  14. Pour hot sauce on the plate. Serve hot, ready to serve.
