Milk holds great significance in every Indian household. We have all grown up drinking milk every day. Don’t we all have a memory of waiting for the doodhwala (milkman) to deliver fresh cow’s milk every morning? With commercialisation kicking in, a lot of milk delivery systems have changed over the years. More than fresh milk, people now prefer tetra packs and milk packets provided by quick delivery services. These are delivered to us within minutes, at any time of the day or night. While technology is making everything easier, there’s still parts of India that depend on the milkman’s delivery. So, how do we combat quick delivery and fresh milk? One milkman's technical genius, perhaps, is the answer.
The milkman’s unique invention of a milk delivery vehicle has made him go viral on the internet, with his invention grabbing the attention of automobile conglomerate Anand Mahindra as well! It seems like the focus of the milkman is to deliver fresh milk to his customers with speed.
In a video shared by @RoadsofMumbai on Twitter, we can see a three-wheeled modified vehicle that seems like a cross between a car and a bike, running at warp speed, with canisters of milk at the back. The driver was all strapped in with seat belts and a helmet. Take a look:
Isn’t that simply genius? No wonder, the video has crossed over 3.2k retweets, 390 quote tweets and over 21k likes already!
Given that the vehicle looked a lot like a Formula One car, they captioned the video as, “When you want to become a F1 driver, but the family insists on helping the dairy business”.
The vehicle was an invention of the milkman, and it looked like it was on a testing phase as one could see the bare wiring and the engine of the vehicle too was completely exposed. Yet the man was testing the vehicle by delivering milk to his customers. Anand Mahindra has been quite vocal about supporting innovation at the grassroot level in our country, especially when it involves automobile innovators. And looking at this, he was truly amazed and inspired by the milkman's genius skills. He even expressed how he wants to meet him! Here's what he wrote, "I'm not sure his vehicle meets road regulations, but I hope his passion for wheels remains unregulated… This is the coolest thing I've seen in a long while. I want to meet this road warrior..."
