What can be the most delightful way to feel extra joyous and happy on the weekend with a plate full of cutlets accompanied with chutney? Soya chunk nuggets are what you can try next. Soya Chunks, also favored by the name of nutrela nuggets, is made from defatted soy flour. These nuggets are considered the top best substitute for non-meat eaters. Sadly, many vegetarians lack protein intake because the only protein-rich foods available are lentils, rice, and potatoes. Since soya chunks are rich in protein, they are added to most dishes, such as pulao, curry, soups, etc. Soya chunks cutlets are one of the most unique and yummiest dishes out of all. Here is how you can easily make them at home.

  1. 1 cup soaked soya nuggets
  2. 2 boiled potato
  3. Salt
  4. Finely chopped onion
  5. Ginger garlic paste
  6. Garam masala
  7. Oil for frying
  8. Red chilli powder
  9. Green chilli
  10. 2 tablespoons cornflour

  1. First, take soya chunks and soak them in water for 2-3 hours until it becomes soft.
  2. After soaking, squeeze the excess water out from the soya chunks.
  3. In a mixer grinder, add ginger garlic paste, a pinch of salt and some green chillies. Then add soya chunks and finely grind the mixture.
  4. In a bowl, mash the potatoes together, add more salt as per taste, red chilli powder and bind together using cornflour.
  5. The next step is to mix this with the already existing mixture of soya chunks and spices that have been ground.
  6. Mix everything well and make a dough out of the same. The dough should not be soggy; otherwise, the parties won't be firm and crispy.
  7. Take tiny pieces of dough and start making as many cutlets or patties that you can make.
  8. Heat oil and fry the cutlets on low-medium flame until they turn golden.
