This Mithai Is Still Haunting Mira Kapoor, Can You Guess?

It is almost the end of the festive season, and those half-empty mithai boxes are reminders of the endless indulgence we allowed ourselves to. And that’s okay, since some of our favourite celebrities also went all out. In fact, some are still bingeing on Diwali sweets because why not! That’s right, Mira Kapoor, wife of actor Shahid Kapoor, who has become an internet sensation in her own right, took to Instagram to share a bowl consisting three pieces of Kaju Katli, with the caption, “They need to stop following me”. Relatable much?

For the uninitiated, Kaju Katli or Kaju Barfi, is a soft, fudge-like Indian sweetmeat that is made with paste of cashews, milk and sugar. This tender sweet has a lovely creamy flavour, and is often laced with silver varq. It is one of the most exquisite Indian mithais and a festive staple during Diwali and festivals that proceed, such as Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj. It is also very easy to make at home, no seriously. Try this recipe.

Looks like Mira has an extra penchant for Indian sweets. She has already gone on record to state her love for ghee and nuts, both of which are used copiously in Indian sweets. On Wednesday, she also shared a cute throwback picture on her feed from her Chula Jalana ceremony. It is an Indian post-marriage ritual, where the new bride takes over the kitchen of her new home for the first time.

To mark the occasion, the brides cook something and Mira seems to be preparing some kind of Halwa and she looks like a pro. In one of his interviews, Shahid confessed that even though Mira does not cook a lot, she is an excellent cook. During the lockdown, she cooked an entire Italian feast for her family. Now, isn’t that impressive? Well, we hope you find many reasons and excuses to binge on your favourite mithai Mira.
