The extended list of Asia’s 50 Best Bars for 2024 was announced on July 9, where 4 Indian bars occupied their ranks on the list. Creating a landmark moment for Indian drinking hotspots on a global level, the prestigious list featured Mumbai’s The Bombay Canteen at 59th rank followed by Delhi’s Lair at the 68th rank. Best Bar for India 2023 winner Sidecar from Delhi occupied 84th position while Home from the city featured at the 96th rank. The curated list, which saw 15 new entries this year comprises bars from 19 different cities across the continent.
Compiled by an academy of 265 members comprising of bartenders, bar owners, drinks writers and cocktail aficionados, Asia’s 50 Best Bars List is announced each year basis of an anonymous voting system. While The Bombay Canteen and Sidecar have been featured for a second time following their appearance on the 2023 list, the updated set of names also features iconic watering holes like Seoul’s Soko, Tokyo’s Tokyo Confidential and Singapore’s The Elephant Room.
