Teh Talua: A Tasty Indonesian Tea Made With Eggs

But have you sipped on this tea made with egg before? Teh Talua is a hot tea that is typically made up of egg yolks along with other ingredients and with a dash of calamansi juice. Calamansi juice is a Filipino version of lemonade. It is said that this egg tea originated from West Sumatra in Indonesia a few years ago. This drink is defined as unique as it's prepared with egg yolks which is something you can barely think of adding in your tea while brewing one.   • 2 tablespoons sugar  
  • Water for boiling  
  • 2 egg yolks  
  • Tea as per taste 
  • Pinch of cardamom  
  • lime juice

Steps in the making-  

  • Take a saucepan and add water, mix it with sugar and a tablespoon of tea.  Boil for a while and sprinkle some cardamom powder over the top.  
  • Whisk the egg yolks well until smooth and add it into a glass. 
  • Pour hot tea over the glass filled with egg yolks and finally add a dash of lime juice into it. 
  • There you go, your egg tea is ready.
